To provide quality public health services that meet customer needs and expectations

Core Functions
Provision of primary health care services inline with the international (WHO) and national health standards. These are preventive, curative, promotive and rehabilitative services geared towards improving the health of individuals, families and the community at large.

Provision of environmental heath services which aim at creating and sustaining an inhabitable environment through the implementation of Acts, policies and strategies that protect both the human life and ecosystem from the harmful effects of indiscriminate waste disposal. The division controls biological, chemical and physical hazards that cause ill health.

Health education- the department is also responsible for educating the public on health related matters/issues in conjunction with other organizations.

Coordination of all programmes and health projects implemented at district level.
Researches on health problems and formulate strategies on the same, which are implemented to address the problems.
